Two stray cats meet at the shelter and become inseparable best friends

We’ve all had that weird feeling we already know someone we just met for the first time. It turns out, animals are just the same. From the moment these two stray cats first laid eyes on each other at the shelter, they became the most precious little best friends.

A helpless newborn kitten arrived at the Chatons Orphelins Montréal, in Montréal, Canada one freezing cold night. The kitten, who they named Lou, was badly malnourished. She was just skin and bones when she first arrived and so tiny that she hadn’t even opened her eyes yet. The loving staff members at the shelter were determined to help her recover. Slowly but surely, little Lou began to grow a healthy appetite and gain weight, but it wasn’t just her appetite for food that grew.

As she grew stronger, Lou’s appetite for a feline friend grew as well. She’d cling to any new kitten that arrived at the shelter in hopes of getting her fair share of love and cuddles.

A few weeks after Lou’s arrival, a litter of four other orphaned kittens arrived at the shelter. While her brothers quickly recovered, one of the kittens, Griotte, who had an infected eye, struggled to gain weight and grow strong. Just like they’ve done with Lou a couple of weeks earlier, the loving staff at the shelter cared for Griotte around the clock and quickly nurtured her back to full health.

Seeing how eager the two kittens are for companionship, one staff member suggested introducing them to each other. It was love at first sight. After a few hours of playing and cuddling, Lou and Griotte were inseparable best friends.

Now that they’re older, the two grew into being best friends that complete each other. While Lou is a bundle of fun, Griotte took a more motherly role of caring for her friend’s grooming. The two friends are now looking for a forever home, preferably together and we wish them the best of luck!
